As a Finnish family-owned company, Kuljetus Lakkapää and its auxiliary business names Liikenne Lakkapää and Lakkapää Matkat place special emphasis on responsible business practices. In our daily operations, we strive to reduce our company’s carbon footprint. Below are concrete measures we have implemented.

Our bus, taxi, and truck fleet consists of vehicles meeting Euro 5 and Euro 6 emission standards.
We train our personnel in economical and eco-friendly driving practices.
We have significantly reduced unnecessary vehicle idling.
We use biodegradable cleaning agents for both exterior and interior vehicle cleaning.
We recycle all waste generated by our business operations.
Our facilities are heated using environmentally friendly district heating (Lahti Energia).
The exterior and interior lighting of our facilities has been upgraded to energy-saving LED lighting.
We have increasingly transitioned from paper-based communication to electronic communication.
We require our travel agency partners to operate in accordance with our values.
All permits and guarantees related to our business operations are in order (public transport license, freight transport license, tour operator guarantees to competition and consumer authorities). We operate in compliance with the Finnish Act on the Contractor’s Obligations and Liability.

We take care of our employees’ well-being by encouraging participation in industry-related training. We organize at least one joint training event per year for all interested employees. We maintain close dialogue with employee representatives regarding occupational safety matters. We also organize informal gatherings for staff outside working hours. We pay wages in accordance with the applicable collective labor agreement. Special attention is paid to compliance with working time legislation in route and duty planning, particularly regarding drivers’ rest periods.
